Mary Margaret Powrie is haikugirl, a creative writer, editor and filmmaker who specializes in leveraging new media to promote collaboration and learning. An avid blogger and web evangelist, Mary Margaret has spent the past decade creating compelling communication and award-winning e-learning for the Ontario Public Service (OPS), TELUS Mobility and Sun Microsystems.

haikugirl’s first documentary Marathon Women won the Best Use of “Faith” Theme Award at the 2007 International Documentary Challenge (IDC) and screened at Hot Docs in Toronto, Canada. MMP has been a regular at TIFF since 1993 and a Hot Docs delegate and DOC Soup subscriber since 2007.

haikugirl loves making movies, writing haiku reviews, travelling, twittering, taking digital photos, sharing food and wine with friends and making photo slideshows on her MacBook Pro.
